European destination weddings have always tugged at my heart strings. There’s something about the historic architecture that tells a beautiful story of hard-working hands. Europe’s old world gardens are the result of time, tending, and faith. What better setting to say “I do” than one built upon dedication, effort, patience, and love?
But for some, a European wedding isn’t logistically feasible. Would it be possible to recreate the charm and grandeur of a European setting, stateside? I was up for the challenge, and found the ideal setting in The Cairnwood Estate.
With the help of an incredible team and By Millie B Photography, we brought the romance of a European wedding to a historic country house in Pennsylvania. The project was featured by one of my favorite fine art wedding publications, Magnolia Rouge.
As I share photos from our collaboration, I invite you to step into an 1800’s estate originally designed for entertaining and fellowship. Currently a National Historic Landmark, the residence is furnished in a carefully curated collection of turn-of-the-century furniture and surrounded by breathtaking secret gardens.
